Area Manager

Role Overview

The Area Manager will be responsible for driving sales performance and team execution across the assigned territory in Port Blair. This role focuses on delivering primary and secondary sales outcomes, strengthening market relationships, ensuring compliance with company policies, and guiding field teams to meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver monthly and annual targets for both product-wise and value-wise sales across primary and secondary channels within the assigned territory.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with doctors, retailers, and stockists through customer engagement initiatives that align with the company’s commercial approach.
• Review the performance of the team and the territory on a regular basis.
• Create and execute improvement plans to strengthen business results and operational efficiency.
• Spot capability gaps in the team and arrange training and development support where needed.
• Ensure that all operations in the area comply with the company’s credit policy.
• Track receivables and outstanding dues closely to reduce financial exposure.
• Make sure Medical Executives (MEs) and Medical Trainees (MTs) are hired and inducted on time, following company guidelines, so sales activity is not affected.
• Supervise field activity of MEs and MTs and ensure daily reporting is submitted without delay.
• Support the rollout of company initiatives by directing and enabling team members.
• Share market inputs on industry movement, competitor actions, and promotional efforts to support planning and decisions.
• Resolve team-related issues promptly and escalate unresolved matters to the line manager and head office when required to avoid delays.

Experience Requirements

The position calls for 8 to 10 years of overall work experience, including at least 2 years in a first-line managerial role.

Education

A graduation degree in Pharmacy is required.
