Role summary

British Cycling is hiring an Art Worker on a fixed-term basis through August 2027. This role sits within the Creative Studio and supports the delivery of visual assets for some of the UK’s most high-profile cycling events and wider participation work. The position is based in Manchester and is suited to a recent graduate or someone at the beginning of their creative career who is eager to learn, has strong production skills, and pays close attention to detail.

The organisation supports a community of over 140,000 members and the wider 27 million people in the UK who ride bicycles, whether for sport, leisure, travel, or elite competition. Its work connects to major national and international events, athlete success on the world stage, and programmes designed to create positive social impact.

In 2027, the UK will host the Grand Départ of both the Tour de France and the Tour de France Femme, Avec Zwift, marking the first time both races have started in the same country outside France. Alongside these events, a large social impact programme will run across the UK with aims that include reducing inactivity, improving mental wellbeing, supporting economic growth, and helping communities thrive.

A Special Purpose Vehicle called Grand Départ GB 2027 will oversee event delivery and manage public funding on behalf of DCMS, the Scottish Government, the Welsh Government, and UK Sport. This SPV is a joint venture between UKEL, a new sports events company, and British Cycling. British Cycling will be responsible for operational and business functions, social impact and volunteer programmes, and all consumer-facing activity on behalf of the partners.

What you will do

As part of the Creative Studio, you will help produce and adapt artwork for British Cycling’s sport and participation activity as well as major events including Lloyds Tour of Britain Men and Women and the Tour de France Grand Départ 2027. You will work closely with senior designers, marketers, content teams, and event colleagues to turn briefs into polished creative outputs across print, digital, and social channels.

About the role

• Assist the Creative Studio in producing artwork for British Cycling’s participation programmes and key cycling events.
• Adapt and roll out creative work across multiple formats, including signage, printed items, digital assets, social media content, presentations, and marketing materials.
• Apply approved designs to different sizes, specifications, and channels while keeping brand standards intact.
• Prepare files for print and digital use, making sure artwork is technically correct, accurate, and delivered to deadline.
• Collaborate with senior designers and wider teams to respond to creative briefs effectively.
• Support asset organisation, version tracking, and maintenance of artwork libraries.
• Build your technical and creative capability by learning from experienced colleagues.
• Bring a proactive, positive attitude and a readiness to take on new tasks and responsibilities.

Requirements

• You should be comfortable using Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• You need to understand how to adapt visual designs for different outputs, sizes, and technical specifications.
• This is a good fit for a recent graduate or someone early in their creative career.
• A strong eye for detail and a willingness to learn are essential.
• You should be able to work collaboratively with designers, marketers, content specialists, and event teams.

Additional information
