Role overview
This position is for an Area Sales Manager supporting the NBB and VRM setup in Chandigarh. The role is connected with Virtual Relationship Managers who handle a mapped portfolio of preferred customers and use that relationship to promote third-party products. The customer base is high-value, with monthly average balances above 2 lakhs and fixed deposits of 15 lakhs. The account is built around phone-based relationship management, supported by dedicated landline numbers for customer callbacks. The bank has around 500 VRMs managing approximately 10 lakh customers.
Key responsibilities
The selected candidate will work with leads generated by the VRM telecaller team and will be expected to take them forward through field visits and product explanation. The focus is on converting these leads into closures for BSLI products while building strong coordination with the telecaller and VRM network.
- Visit leads shared by the VRM telecaller team and engage prospects personally.
- Explain BSLI products clearly and move prospects toward closure.
- Maintain a productive working relationship with VRM telecallers to maximize lead flow.
- Leverage customer relationships to support cross-selling of third-party products.
Candidate profile
Applicants should come with life insurance sales exposure of more than 2 years. Candidates from NBFC sales or banking sales backgrounds can also be considered. The role is open to both male and female candidates, and the age limit is 30 years.
Additional information
Telecallers will generate leads from existing HDFC Bank customers on a daily basis and share them with the BSLI team. The expected lead flow is 3 to 4 leads per day. The role depends on close coordination with the VRM telecaller team and active follow-up to convert leads efficiently.
