About the team
You will be part of Lam Research’s Global Operations Group, which combines information systems, facilities, supply chain, logistics, and large-scale manufacturing to support efficient global business operations. The team helps deliver solutions quickly and effectively while contributing to the company’s resilient and profitable growth.
Role overview
In this assembler position, you will carry out assembly work on wafer fab equipment. The job calls for comfort with computer-guided work instructions, hand tools, and fixtures, along with the ability to work accurately in a clean-room manufacturing setting.
What you will do
- Follow computer-based instructions to fit parts and hardware using hand tools and fixtures when needed on wafer fabrication equipment in a clean-room environment.
- Coordinate with teammates to keep production flow and schedules on track.
- Adapt quickly to shifting priorities, including rework tasks and new product introduction work.
- Make sure the right components are received and used during assembly.
- Support audits by carrying out visual checks, confirming checklists, and completing leak tests where required.
- Learn and work across several areas, such as sub-assemblies, PMI, and ship preparation.
- Support less experienced assemblers when acting as a buddy.
- Take part in continuous improvement and Kaizen activities to strengthen processes and work instructions.
- Keep the workspace tidy, clean, and well organized.
- Demonstrate conduct that reflects Lam’s core values.
- Follow safety and protection requirements, including proper PPE use, clean-room procedures, Lockout Tagout practices, ZEST procedures, and the use of lifting aids such as hoists, lift tracks, gantry cranes, and lifting tools.
Requirements
- A minimum diploma in any engineering discipline.
- About 5 to 6 years of relevant electrical and electronics assembly experience, depending on level.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Ability to handle changing priorities, including rework, overtime, and occasional travel to other Lam or customer facilities.
- Comfort using computer-based data systems and applications.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
- Physical ability to squat, kneel, walk, climb, stand, and work in ergonomically challenging positions for more than half the shift.
- Capability to lift up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand movements using hand tools.
- Color recognition skills for wire identification.
- Experience using hand tools such as calipers, circuit testers, wrenches, hoists, ohm meters, screwdrivers, torque wrenches, ladders/platforms, and snipping tools/cutters.

Work location model
Lam offers different location models depending on the role. Hybrid arrangements may include on-site and remote work. In the described model, on-site flexibility means working 3 or more days per week at a Lam or customer/supplier location and remotely for the rest of the week. Virtual flexibility means working 1 to 2 days per week on-site and remotely for the remainder.
