Assistant Designer

Role overview

The Assistant Designer will help develop woven collections by contributing ideas, supporting design execution, and working closely with the Senior Designer and Creative Director. This position is intended for someone with 1–2 years of experience who is ready to take on broader responsibilities in a fast-moving design setting.

What you will do

• Assist in creating four seasonal collections, along with any exclusive drops or collaborations, from initial concept through finished garment.
• Research woven fabrics, trims, and seasonal market directions to inform concept development and creative references.
• Produce sketches and CAD artwork that support the seasonal design vision and product development process.
• Help maintain precise technical specifications, including construction information.
• Support post-fitting updates by tracking design revisions and corrective changes.
• Contribute ideas on fabric, trim, and construction choices while working under senior design guidance.
• Keep development samples, vintage references, fabrics, and trims organized to support an efficient team workflow.
• Work with Product Development, Technical Design, and Raw Materials teams to ensure designs move smoothly through the process.
• Help resolve issues tied to samples, fit, and construction, and escalate concerns when needed.
• Support scheduling, timelines, and key deliverables so deadlines are met.
• Assist in preparing for internal reviews, as well as show and market presentations.
• Maintain orderly design resources such as line sheets, boards, sample racks, and material libraries.

Qualifications

• A degree or diploma in Fashion Design or a closely related discipline.
• Solid knowledge of woven garment construction, fabric types, and current market trends.
• Hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Strong eye for detail, plus proven organizational and time-management ability.
• Comfort managing several priorities at once in a deadline-driven environment.
• Proactive, team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple functions.

Compensation and benefits

• Annual salary range of $66,000 to $70,000.

Additional information

This role reports to the Senior Designer and Creative Director. It is based in New York, NY and is structured as a full-time, onsite position.
