About the role
Mace is looking for an Assistant Planning Manager to join its team in Riyadh on a major ultra-luxury residential and hospitality development. The assignment includes substantial civil works, infrastructure, landscape, and built assets, and is being delivered at pace within a hands-on project management consultancy environment with FIDIC Engineer responsibilities.
The position offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-profile programme alongside leading architects and international consultants, with a strong focus on safe delivery, quality, compliance, and coordinated execution across complex project stages.
Key responsibilities
- Help create and maintain a delivery environment that is safe, high quality, compliant, and supportive of wellbeing and inclusion, with strong HSE performance.
- Carry out important planning tasks that support scheduling, performance tracking, and alignment with strategic project goals.
- Assist senior leadership with governance activities, due diligence, and detailed schedule review and analysis.
- Build cooperative working relationships, share knowledge, and maintain effective stakeholder engagement across multiple workstreams.
- Plan and schedule across complex phases of the project while coordinating with supervision consultant and contractor planning teams.
- Liaise with stakeholders and support progress reporting and productivity monitoring against approved progress rules and methods.
- Incorporate sustainability, safety, and contract compliance into programme delivery.
- Use planning and reporting systems and related methods to monitor performance and support continuous improvement.
Requirements
- A relevant degree plus membership of APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA, or an equivalent level of professional development.
- Hands-on expertise with Primavera P6; experience with TILOS would be an advantage.
- Proven ability to review contractor programmes and provide challenge where needed.
- Solid understanding of construction sequencing, constraints, and delivery approaches.
- Experience with delay analysis and time impact assessment techniques.
- Knowledge of FIDIC contracts and time-related provisions.
- Strong analytical skills covering the interaction of schedule, cost, and progress information.
- Ability to explain complex programme details clearly to different stakeholders.
- Meeting the visa requirements for Saudi Arabia and having relevant experience on high-value projects/programmes within a project management consultancy environment, as required for immigration and client approval.
