About the Role
Broccolini is hiring an Assistant Project Manager for its Toronto construction team. In this role, you will support the creation and delivery of notable building projects while building strong relationships with colleagues, partners, and clients. The Assistant Project Manager contributes to the successful delivery of construction work by supporting all phases of a small project or specific portions of a larger one. The role carries responsibility for schedule, budget, quality, safety, and coordination among stakeholders, while working alongside Project Managers, Project Directors, Superintendents, and internal teams.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with planning, scheduling, and execution from preconstruction through project close-out.
- Update and monitor project schedules to measure progress and flag possible delays or impacts.
- Support budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial performance reporting.
- Prepare monthly progress billings, client draw requests, and purchase order reviews in line with company procedures.
- Coordinate communication among subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams.
- Take part in project meetings, including recording discussions and contributing to follow-up actions.
- Help maintain quality control, document management, and contract compliance.
- Support site health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Visit project sites regularly to assist with field coordination and monitor construction progress.
- Help identify project risks and contribute to mitigation plans with the project team.
- Support procurement work such as tendering trades, reviewing scopes, and awarding contracts.
- Assist with close-out tasks, including turnover packages and final deliverables.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of construction experience, or a comparable mix of technical training and hands-on experience.
- An engineering degree or a technical diploma in Construction, Building, Civil, or Architecture.
- Good understanding of construction contract terms and project financials.
- Strong knowledge of architectural and civil work, plus a basic understanding of MEP systems.
- Experience with Procore, Textura, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Project is considered an advantage.
