About the role
This position sits within BlackRock’s Human Resources organization and supports the firm’s goal of expanding access to financial well-being by strengthening how HR operates. The team focuses on attracting, growing, and keeping outstanding talent so the business can perform at a high level.
As an Associate HR Business Partner, you will assist senior HRBPs across Americas Client Business, Global Product Solutions, and Financial and Strategic Investors Group. Your work will support both group-specific priorities and larger firm-wide talent efforts.
What you will do
You will help drive HR business partner support, manage talent-related projects, and contribute to data-led decision-making. The role also involves collaborating with multiple HR functions and helping improve employee experience through practical, tech-enabled solutions.
HR business partner support
- Create polished materials for senior leaders, such as HR strategy and operating model decks, using PowerPoint and Excel.
- Own the coordination of talent initiatives from start to finish, including meeting agendas, communications, and presentation materials for internal HR and leadership discussions.
- Work with managers to spot high-potential employees and support performance management activities.
- Assist in planning and delivering employee engagement programs.
- Develop working relationships across HR and the business to build insight into organizational design, culture, and leadership.
- Coordinate with other HR specialists, including Talent Acquisition, Compensation, and Employee Relations, to help execute business objectives.
- Act as a trusted resource on HR systems, processes, and policies.
Data and analytics
- Respond to analytics requests covering headcount, attrition, promotions, performance, and related HR measures.
- Review qualitative and quantitative information to identify trends and connect findings to business needs.
- Use AI tools and Microsoft 365 applications, including Copilot, to improve workflow efficiency, summarize information, and prepare client-ready deliverables.
- Collaborate with HR teams to extract, report, and analyze data from Workday and other systems.
Talent and culture
- Support annual talent management cycles and related work in organizational design, employee relations, and leadership development.
- Look for ways to improve the employee experience and help implement innovative, technology-driven solutions with HRBPs.
What the role requires
The position calls for strong analytical ability, disciplined project management, and a detail-oriented approach. You should be comfortable working with confidential information, adapting communication for different audiences, and bringing a proactive, collaborative mindset. A strong business focus, empathy, and a drive to keep learning are also important.
Compensation, benefits, and working model
For New York, NY, the annual base salary range is USD 105,000 to USD 135,000. The role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and benefits that include healthcare, leave, and retirement coverage.
BlackRock follows a pay-for-performance approach, so total compensation can differ based on role, location, and firm, department, and individual results.
The company offers a broad benefits package that includes a strong retirement plan, tuition reimbursement, comprehensive healthcare, support for working parents, and Flexible Time Off (FTO).
This is a hybrid position. Employees are expected to be in the office at least four days per week and may work from home one day per week. Some teams may need additional in-office time depending on the nature of the work.
AI guidance for candidates
BlackRock encourages thoughtful use of AI to prepare and learn during the hiring process. However, interviews are intended to evaluate your own experience, judgment, and thinking, so candidates should be prepared to present their own perspective and work.
