Business Systems Analyst

About the role

Ashburton District Council is looking for a Business Systems Analyst to help shape practical, modern solutions that create real value for the district. This is a permanent full-time role based in Ashburton, working across the Council with a strong focus on collaboration and continuous improvement.

What you will do

You will partner with teams across the organisation to understand business goals, identify requirements, and turn those needs into better ways of working. Acting as the link between business users and solution specialists, you will help translate ideas into improved processes, procedures, and technology outcomes.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate will bring experience in business systems analysis, a curious and analytical mindset, and a genuine interest in teamwork and shared success. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with hands-on experience producing and updating business procedures, project documents, and testing plans.

You should also be comfortable facilitating discussions, keeping stakeholders informed, and delivering training sessions when required.
