Role overview
CRC Adult Day Services is recruiting Community Support Workers for specified-purpose contracts across part-time and full-time arrangements (0.93 WTE and 1 WTE). The post is based in Dublin and is delivered onsite within adult day services.
This is a person-centred social care role supporting adults with complex needs to pursue meaningful, self-directed lives. The work is varied and community-focused, with a strong emphasis on individual goals, inclusion, and everyday participation.
Working pattern
Full-time hours are 39 per week. Part-time hours are generally 36.25 per week. Services operate Monday to Sunday between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm, so evening and weekend availability is required.
What the role involves
- Placing the needs and choices of the adults supported at the centre of service delivery
- Supporting the creation and delivery of person-centred plans in line with HSE New Directions
- Designing and running individual and group activities that reflect each person’s preferences
- Acting as a key worker for adults with disabilities, including those with complex needs
- Transporting adults to and from services and community activities using designated CRC transport
- Helping adults participate actively in their communities and live in ways they choose
- Connecting adults with external services, agencies, and local community organisations
- Identifying and developing new opportunities, activities, and experiences in the community
- Providing personal care and support where needed, including support for significant feeding and swallowing difficulties and suctioning
- Maintaining accurate administrative records
- Supporting funding applications under the direction of the line manager
Essential qualifications and experience
Applicants should hold a Social Studies qualification or another relevant qualification, such as QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support, and must also have at least 6 months’ experience supporting adults with disabilities, including responsibility for all aspects of personal care.
A full manual driving licence valid in the state is required. Candidates must also have a working understanding of New Directions, safeguarding principles and safeguarding policies, and experience as a key worker for adults with disabilities.

Required award(s)
The successful candidate must hold a full award in at least one of the following qualifications: Intellectual Disability Practice (5M1761), Community Health Services (5M4468), Health Service Skills (5M3782), Healthcare Support (5M4339), Community Care (5M2786), or Nursing Studies (5M4349).

The salary is aligned to the Department of Health pay scale for Healthcare Assistant (code 6075), ranging from €36,651 to €45,939. Candidates without prior public sector experience will begin at Point 1 of the scale.
