Role Overview

Orchard is hiring a Content Creator who enjoys working with animals and building engaging content for pet-loving audiences. This role is focused on creating social and digital content that informs, entertains, and motivates people to act.

As a Social Media Content Creator, you will be responsible for the full content workflow for social-first assets. That includes concept development, scripting, filming, editing, and reviewing performance. You will help shape the social presence of three brands across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn, reaching pet owners in the US market while also turning scientific information into clear, engaging stories for Australians.

You will partner closely with strategists, art directors, copywriters, account managers, and client stakeholders to produce work that is consistent with the brand and genuinely engaging.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the organic social content planning process for three brands.
• Develop ideas, write scripts, capture footage, and edit short-form video assets such as TikToks, Reels, and Stories aligned to each brand’s tone and audience.
• Experiment with AI tools that can improve creative throughput and production scale.
• Film content featuring dogs and cats comfortably and confidently.
• Keep the look and feel of content consistent by applying brand direction across colour, typography, pacing, and visual treatments.
• Monitor performance data to spot platform trends, algorithm changes, emerging formats, and topic opportunities that can improve reach.
• Craft concise, engaging copy for captions, hooks, and other social assets.
• Work with internal creative specialists and external collaborators such as influencers, veterinarians, and brand ambassadors to broaden content output.
• Plan, schedule, and publish content across social platforms.
• Find opportunities to surface and engage with user-generated content on TikTok and Instagram.
• Track and report on content and channel performance.
• Support social strategy reviews and contribute recommendations.
• Maintain strong client relationships while consistently upholding Orchard’s creative standards.

About You

You are a storyteller who understands how to create content that makes people pause, watch, and share. You are comfortable working quickly, juggling multiple priorities, and translating ideas into polished social content.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in content creation, user-generated content, social media, or a comparable creative position.
• A strong portfolio showcasing short-form content is essential and should be included with the application.
• Strong practical knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook from a creator’s perspective.
• Experience using video editing tools such as TikTok and Instagram native editors, CapCut, Edits, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar mobile-first tools.
• Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Figma is preferred.
• Exposure to AI image or content generation tools, along with a willingness to stay current with fast-moving AI trends and creative best practices.
• Ability to work independently while managing several deliverables in a busy account environment.
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce sharp hooks, captions, and scripts.
• Authentic enthusiasm for pets and the ability to connect naturally with pet-owner audiences.
• Healthcare communications experience is desirable but not mandatory.
• Experience adapting creative output to brand guidelines and different brand voices.

Bonus Experience

• Experience on US market accounts or global brand campaigns.
• Background in healthcare, animal health, or consumer pet categories.
• Agency experience or work in a setting involving multiple stakeholders.
