Skills and experience needed
Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s licence, and a clean driving history. The role requires the ability to lift up to 70 lbs and move parcels weighing as much as 150 lbs using suitable equipment. A background of 1 year in customer-focused business work is preferred.
Applicants must meet the minimum score on mandatory pre-employment driver assessment training. Familiarity with company operations and Canadian customs rules is considered an advantage. Strong people skills, clear communication, sound time management, organization, customer service ability, and the capacity to juggle tasks under pressure are important. Flexibility to work different schedules and holidays based on business requirements is also expected.
Working conditions and additional requirements
This is a full-time role with a Monday to Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The job description is not exhaustive, and the selected employee may be asked to take on other duties as needed. The role also requires the ability to complete mandatory testing and training, work in a PC Windows environment, finish recurring training, and keep annual accreditations up to date where relevant.
If the employee lives in Quebec, bilingual ability in French and English is required. For roles where driving is a core function, applicants must hold a valid driver’s licence such as Class 5, G, or 1[AZ], and have no more than two violations and/or accidents in the 24 months before the application date. Selection will also take into account the driver abstract, interview performance, and results of any driver competency assessments.
