Role Summary
The Business Intelligence Data Analyst is responsible for enterprise reporting, KPI oversight, and visibility into operational performance. The position turns data into timely insight on revenue, backlog, margin, labor utilization, and project execution, helping leadership and teams make better decisions in real time.
This role works closely with Finance, Operations, Sales, and project stakeholders to define meaningful metrics, standardize reporting practices, build dashboards, and deliver insights that improve execution and business outcomes.
What You Will Do
- Develop interactive dashboards, scorecards, and enterprise-level reports in Microsoft Power BI to track revenue, backlog, margin, labor utilization, and project execution.
- Create and refine semantic models, datasets, and scalable data structures using star schema and dimensional modeling methods.
- Write advanced DAX logic, calculations, and measures to support consistent KPI reporting and decision-making.
- Support Microsoft Fabric-based reporting solutions, including Lakehouse setups, data pipelines, and cloud analytics workflows.
- Build and maintain data preparation and transformation processes using Power Query, SQL, and Fabric pipelines across ERP, MES, CRM, financial, operational, and manufacturing sources.
- Work with cross-functional teams to define KPIs, reporting needs, and governance rules.
- Set up and maintain reporting governance, documentation, data quality standards, security controls, row-level security, and access management.
- Track report performance, improve query efficiency, and resolve issues related to refreshes, integrations, and reporting reliability.
- Enable self-service BI by training users and creating scalable solutions that reduce manual work and increase adoption.
- Contribute to enterprise analytics strategy, data modernization, and broader cloud data initiatives that strengthen operational and financial visibility.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, or a related area is preferred; equivalent experience may also be accepted.
- At least 3 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, enterprise reporting, or operational analytics.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Power BI, including dashboard creation, semantic models, and enterprise reporting.
- Solid SQL knowledge and experience using Power Query for data extraction, shaping, and preparation.
- Practical experience creating DAX calculations, measures, and logic for KPI reporting and analytics.
- Understanding of scalable modeling approaches such as star schema and dimensional modeling.
- Ability to use AI/ML methods and generative AI tools to improve analytics and automate workflows.
- Experience validating and integrating data from ERP, MES, CRM, financial, operational, or manufacturing systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, data pipelines, Lakehouse concepts, or similar modern cloud data platforms.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, communication skills, and stakeholder management.
- Comfort managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment while maintaining accuracy and close attention to detail.
- Preferred exposure to executive dashboards, operational scorecards, manufacturing or industrial analytics, Python, Infor CloudSuite Industrial (CSI v10 multi-tenant cloud), KPI governance, master data management, data quality best practices, statistical analysis, forecasting, trend analysis, and predictive modeling.
