Role overview

The Data Quality Engineer will support data migration and modernization work by ensuring that data is accurately tested, validated, and protected across cloud-based pipelines and ETL workflows.

What you will do

• Partner with the Data Migration Lead and engineering team to shape and apply migration testing approaches and best practices.
• Take part in data mapping, reconciliation, and validation activities to maintain strong data integrity and quality.
• Build and apply testing methods for data lineage, tokenization, and encryption so privacy and compliance needs are met.
• Investigate, analyze, and document issues found in ETL extraction, transformation, and loading steps.
• Prepare test-related documentation covering migration steps, data movement flows, and technical decisions.
• Contribute to cloud-native data pipelines and help modernize existing data environments.
• Share ideas and feedback that improve processes, tools, and delivery efficiency.

Required skills and experience

• Strong grounding in ETL concepts, data mapping, and reconciliation.
• Hands-on ability with Python is preferred; Java or Scala exposure is also acceptable if the candidate is open to learning.
• Familiarity with cloud data ecosystems such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of data protection techniques such as tokenization and encryption.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• At least 4 years of experience in data engineering or ETL development is preferred.
• Background in large-scale data migration or modernization programs is an advantage.
• Comfort working in a collaborative team setting and adapting to shifting priorities.
