About the Financial Services Consulting Practice

The Financial Services Consulting team works with banks, insurers, superannuation funds and wealth managers across Australia. Acting as an embedded analytics partner, the team uses an AI-led delivery approach to help clients shift from gut feel to evidence-based decision-making. Insurance is the core focus, with growing work across banking, superannuation and wealth.

Role Overview

In this consulting analytics position, you will support client projects from the first problem framing stage through to analysis and presentation of findings. You will work closely with senior analysts who provide guidance and coaching, while using AI as a regular productivity tool from day one. The role values strong thinking, fast learning, and the ability to work confidently with clients early in your career.

This is a project-based, client-facing role with tight deadlines. Success depends more on strong judgment, problem framing and insight quality than on writing large amounts of code.

What You Will Do

• Handle analytics assignments end to end, including data preparation, exploration, insight generation and presentation.
• Turn unclear client challenges into structured analytical approaches and testable hypotheses.
• Develop analysis using statistical, data science and AI-enabled techniques, selecting the most suitable method for each question.
• Use AI tools to speed up delivery while checking carefully for errors, weak assumptions or off-target outputs.
• Present insights to both technical and non-technical audiences using clear storytelling, visuals and practical recommendations.
• Apply quality checks and maintain organised, reusable documentation of methods and outputs.
• Actively seek feedback and use it to grow your technical, industry and consulting skills.

• Define the problem before starting analysis instead of waiting for a fully detailed brief.
• Work with AI tools in an active and critical way, checking outputs carefully.
