Role overview
Keoghs is looking for a Claims Handler (CH3) to join its Leeds-based legal team. The role focuses on handling a portfolio of Public Liability and Employers’ Liability claims and taking each case from the initial stage through to pre-litigation settlement.
What you will be doing
- Independently manage a portfolio of PL/EL claims through to completion, including matters with reserves up to £30,000.
- Keep case management records accurate and up to date.
- Work in line with agreed client service level agreements.
- Take part in client review meetings and support client project work where required.
- Complete any other duties assigned by the team leader.
- Help maintain strong service quality and productivity standards.
- Provide reporting to the Team Leader or Claims Unit Service Manager and support wider team requirements.
- Allocate incoming new claims when needed.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities appropriate to the level of the role and in accordance with management direction.
Experience and qualifications
- At least 2 years of claims handling experience is required.
- You should have dealt with claim values or quantum up to £25,000.
- Practical experience in assessing, negotiating and settling Public Liability and Employers’ Liability claims is needed.
- A flexible approach to work is important.
- Supervisory experience would be an advantage.

This is a legal department role based in Leeds. The successful candidate will handle PL/EL claims up to a reserve level of £30,000 and will work through matters from inception to pre-litigation settlement.
