This position offers practical exposure across a broad site environment and the chance to contribute to meaningful environmental outcomes.
What the role involves
As an Environmental Advisor, you will assist with site environmental activities such as monitoring, inspections, data handling, permitting and improvement work. The role combines field-based work with office-based reporting and analysis, giving you the opportunity to strengthen your technical capability while supporting operational decision-making.
Key duties
- Perform environmental monitoring and site inspections to support compliance with regulatory and internal requirements, and identify risks early.
- Record, check and manage environmental data accurately within environmental management systems.
- Service and calibrate monitoring equipment and assist with sampling and laboratory-related tasks to help ensure dependable results.
- Support environmental reporting, permitting activities including Permit to Disturb, and GIS mapping work.
- Contribute to water management tasks, environmental incident response and contractor-supported field programs when needed.
- Take part in improvement initiatives that lift site compliance, performance and sustainability outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, including support for Cultural Heritage field activities.
What you need
You should hold a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a closely related field. A solid grasp of environmental legislation, compliance obligations and monitoring principles is important, along with strong organisation, excellent attention to detail and accurate data handling. You will also need to communicate well, work collaboratively with different stakeholders, use Microsoft Office confidently and balance fieldwork with reporting and administrative tasks.
