About the Role
The Estimating Analyst I supports construction budgeting by calculating labor and material costs for both new and existing home designs. The role also uses analytical methods to validate pricing assumptions and uncover opportunities to reduce spend.
Core Responsibilities
In this position, you will prepare cost inputs, evaluate design changes, and help manage budget releases for new homes. You will partner with internal teams to keep estimates accurate, timely, and aligned with business needs.
- Prepare labor and material pricing for new and current projects while meeting deadlines and market demands.
- Review design-related cost data, back up proposed pricing with analysis, and flag possible savings.
- Work with the Design and Purchasing teams to explore alternate construction approaches.
- Examine changes to existing plans and adjust cost estimates accordingly.
- Collaborate with Construction Managers and Vice Presidents of Construction to surface and resolve concerns.
- Study daily reports to organize the release sequence for new-home budgets.
- Approve final budgets for new-home releases.
Requirements
The role calls for a candidate who can interpret cost data, spot inconsistencies, recognize trends, and identify savings opportunities. Strong computer skills are needed, especially with common Microsoft Office applications.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
- 0 to 1 year of relevant experience is required.
- Prior analyst experience is an advantage.
- Ability to analyze cost information for errors, patterns, and efficiency opportunities.
- Working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
