Role overview
Endura Mining is looking for a commercially minded Finance Manager to join at an early stage and play a key part in building the business as it grows. The company has operating sites in New Zealand and an expanding corporate presence in Sydney, and it is now moving through a period of strong growth and change.
You will join a leadership team guided by senior executives with substantial operational experience and a long-term focus on creating a modern mining business with strong values. This role calls for someone who can think strategically, handle complex accounting and reporting requirements, and contribute to decisions that affect the wider operation.
The position can be based on the West Coast or in Christchurch for the right candidate. The package includes a competitive salary, private health care, and an accommodation allowance.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee finance and accounting activities across the site.
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for leadership and other stakeholders.
- Build, track, and update budgets, forecasts, and cash flow plans.
- Analyse financial performance and provide commercial input to operational decisions.
- Maintain compliance with statutory, tax, regulatory, and corporate reporting obligations.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and the general ledger.
- Strengthen financial controls, manage risk processes, and support internal audit work.
- Assist with cost control initiatives and identify ways to improve efficiency.
- Work with department leaders to review performance against budgets and KPIs.
- Arrange external audits and coordinate with auditors, banks, and regulators.
- Lead, coach, and support members of the finance team.
- Contribute to business planning, capital expenditure reviews, and investment analysis.
Candidate profile
We are seeking an experienced finance professional with strong technical accounting capability and the confidence to operate in a complex, operational environment. Prior experience in mining, resources, or another heavy-industry setting is important, along with the ability to manage costs, capital projects, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a closely related field.
- CPA, CA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Substantial experience as a Finance Manager, Senior Accountant, or Financial Controller.
- Background in mining, resources, or heavy industry.
- Solid understanding of financial reporting standards, tax rules, and corporate governance.
- Proven ability in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems.
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to influence outcomes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.
Desirable experience
- Experience in gold mining operations.
- Exposure to project accounting and capital expenditure management.
- Knowledge of mining royalty and resource-sector reporting requirements.
- Experience using ERP platforms such as Pronto, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems.
- Previous leadership experience in a remote or site-based environment.
What is on offer
- Competitive pay with performance incentives.
- Private health care.
- Accommodation allowance.
- Chance to join the leadership group of a growing gold mining business.
- Long-term growth and career development opportunities.
- Supportive and collaborative team culture.
- Involvement in strategic business and operational decisions.
- A modern operation focused on safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.
