Role overview
Join a full-stack engineering group with a strong emphasis on front-end work. In this role, you will partner with software engineers, designers, and product managers to build new capabilities for connected frontend applications and APIs. You will also own the ongoing support and maintenance of the applications and services you help deliver.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to, and at times lead, the creation of requirements, features, user stories, use cases, and test cases, while also taking part in daily stand-up meetings.
- Prepare process documents, technical design materials, and support documentation.
- Work closely with the wider telematics engineering team on solution design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Take part in, or lead, incident management, problem management, change requests, and service requests, including root cause analysis and preventive defect reduction work.
- Deliver products built with React-based front ends and Spring/Cloud services that support customers.
Experience and qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or an equivalent mix of education and relevant work experience.
- At least 3 years of professional web development experience, with a strong focus on responsive, user-facing interfaces.
- At least 3 years of hands-on front-end development experience using React.
- At least 1 year of experience building or maintaining back-end components with the Spring Framework and JVM languages such as Java or Kotlin.
- At least 1 year of experience using CI/CD tools, pipelines, and Git in a front-end release workflow.
Preferred background
- Experience collaborating with technical specialists, product managers, DevOps teams, big data teams, UI/UX designers, and business stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of REST APIs and OAS standards.
- Comfort with continuous integration and continuous delivery tooling and pipelines.
- Exposure to GCP or other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Familiarity with testing tools such as Jest or Karma.
- Ability to uphold and improve coding standards, design standards, and agile team practices.

Compensation and employment notes
This role is assigned salary grade 2, and the listed salary grade range is 6-8. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants must already be legally authorized to work in the United States, and employment eligibility will be verified at the time of hire.

Work location
This position is hybrid. Candidates within commuting distance of a company hub may be required to work onsite four or more days each week.
