About the Role
As a General Assistant in a Barchester care home, you will support day-to-day operations across several areas so residents receive the high standard of care and comfort they deserve. The role is varied, with responsibilities that may include housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, and catering. Because the work spans multiple tasks, you will help create a welcoming, comfortable, and homely setting for residents.

About You
People entering a General Assistant role come from many different backgrounds and career paths. What matters most is that you are dependable, kind, considerate, and willing to make a positive difference. You should also be practical and comfortable switching between different types of work as needed. If you bring these qualities, full training will be provided, along with opportunities to take additional courses and build your skills further.

Barchester provides a strong benefits package alongside a competitive salary. The available benefits include free training and development for all roles, access to wellbeing and support resources, retail savings and discounts, unlimited referrals through the Refer a Friend bonus scheme, and recognition awards such as Employee of the Month and Long Service Awards.
