Role overview
Apleona Ireland is hiring GMP Cleaners to support a pharmaceutical environment in Sligo, County Sligo. This role is based on site and follows a fixed weekday schedule.
Working pattern
The standard hours are Monday to Thursday from 08:00 to 16:00 and Friday from 08:00 to 15:00.
Main duties
- Carry out cleaning duties while following all site-specific instructions and Apleona procedures.
- Use cleaning products and equipment safely and take responsibility for their proper handling.
- Perform cleaning tasks in a way that protects the health and safety of employees and visitors.
- Complete logbooks and other required records on time in line with site procedures and SOPs.
- Work with the cleaning supervisor to plan, schedule, and deliver cleaning tasks in GMP or assigned areas.
- Inform the supervisor of any damage or defects noticed in fabric or fixtures.
- Check equipment before use, escalate any faults, and stay aware of maintenance or service needs.
- Raise any health and safety concerns with the supervisor as soon as possible.
- Stay alert to security risks and report anything unusual or suspicious without delay.
- Follow gowning rules and other site SOPs at all times.
- Understand the RAMS, SPA, and PPE requirements linked to each task.
- Deliver a professional, customer-focused approach and work collaboratively with the facilities team and other stakeholders.
- Keep standards of cleanliness and GMP high, including compliance with 5S practices during maintenance activities.
- Support a continuous-improvement mindset and contribute to best-practice ways of working.
- Complete daily site checks as required by the client.
- Assist subcontractors with access, permits, sign-in processes, and guidance to the work area when needed.
- Complete any training assigned by the line manager within the agreed timeframe.
- Learn and use relevant site systems as needed to carry out the role effectively.
- Take on additional tasks or short-term projects assigned by the client or team lead.
Experience and qualifications
Prior experience in a GMP setting is preferred, and previous use of cleaning equipment is also desirable. Candidates should have a basic understanding of health and safety, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a flexible team-oriented attitude.
