GPU Formal Verification Engineer

Role overview

This position sits within a rapidly growing GPU hardware organization focused on delivering class-leading GPU IP for a broad mix of markets and use cases through ongoing innovation.

As part of the team, you will work on advanced designs, contribute to important chip building blocks, and play a meaningful role in the success of the wider engineering group.

What you will do

• Own formal verification for a GPU block or subsystem from the earliest planning phase through final sign-off.
• Develop and apply formal verification approaches that support design quality objectives.
• Work with fellow engineers to identify the underlying cause of design problems.
• Investigate new formal verification methods and help expand what formal verification can accomplish.
• Prepare verification plans and build, refine, and support formal methodologies and complex benches.
• Monitor verification progress, summarize metrics, and drive closure.
• Contribute verification feedback during design specification definition.
• Plan, estimate, and manage your own workload effectively.
• Help improve the team’s verification methodology and influence best practices.
• Guide, coach, and support other team members when needed.
• Take part in design and verification reviews and suggest improvements.
• Share knowledge with the team through open discussion and presentations.

• Solid understanding of formal verification concepts, methods, and tools.
• Hands-on experience applying formal verification to complex microarchitectures.
• Ability to craft tailored techniques for exhaustive proof and deep bug discovery.
• Exposure to advanced formal methods such as abstractions, invariants, and sequential equivalence checking.
• Familiarity with complex standard bus protocols and integration of ABVIP.
• Working knowledge of ASIC design methodologies, flows, and tools.
• Capability to plan, estimate, and track your own work.

Nice to have

• Understanding of GPU or CPU architecture.
• Knowledge of common bus standards such as AMBA5 CHI, AMBA4 ACE, or AXI.
• Experience with other verification approaches such as UVM.
• Exposure to scripting languages and/or C or SystemC.
• Familiarity with functional safety standards such as ISO 26262.
