About the Role
QOVES is hiring an Industrial Designer who can turn scientific ideas and product concepts into high-quality 3D visuals, working prototypes, and designs ready for production. Strong command of professional CAD and rendering software is essential for this position.
You will collaborate closely with the founders, engineers, and researchers. The role involves converting concept briefs and scientific references into detailed 3D models, producing realistic renders for presentations and investors, and building CAD files suitable for manufacturing. You will also apply anthropometric and ergonomic principles, refine ideas quickly based on feedback and testing, and coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to confirm product specifications. Your work will influence physical products such as devices, tools, packaging, and hardware.
Responsibilities
- Convert conceptual notes and technical references into detailed 3D product models.
- Create photorealistic renders for presentations, stakeholder reviews, and investor materials.
- Develop CAD designs that can move smoothly into manufacturing-ready files.
- Apply ergonomics, anthropometrics, materials knowledge, and production considerations to design decisions.
- Iterate on designs quickly using feedback, usability insights, and testing outcomes.
- Work with suppliers and manufacturers to verify specifications and production feasibility.
- Shape the design direction for physical products including devices, tools, packaging, and hardware.
- Collaborate directly with founders, engineers, and researchers throughout the product development process.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Advanced proficiency with CAD and visualization tools such as SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360, Blender, KeyShot, or equivalent software.
- A portfolio showing 3D product renders and examples of designs taken through to manufacturing.
- Good knowledge of ergonomics, materials, and common production methods.
- Ability to understand scientific or technical inputs and convert them into practical, testable designs.
- A polished design sensibility with a preference for clean, modern, precision-focused aesthetics.
- Comfort working from open-ended briefs and independently arriving at a clear design direction.
- Willingness to work full-time onsite at The Library in London.
Nice to Have
