Role Description

We are seeking an Intermediate Level Interior Designer to manage full-cycle interior design projects, from conceptualization through to installation. This is a full-time, on-site position based in our Menlo Park, CA studio. Your daily tasks will involve formulating design concepts, curating mood boards, specifying finishes and materials, and generating drawings and presentations for client approval. You will collaborate with senior designers, architects, and suppliers, provide support for space planning and FF&E selections, and assist in the oversight of project schedules and budgets. The role also requires conducting site assessments and measurements, coordinating with construction teams, and supervising installation and styling to ensure the design vision is realized. This opportunity is ideal for a designer possessing robust technical proficiencies and a sophisticated design aesthetic, eager to assume project ownership under guidance.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in interior design principles and space planning, with a proven ability to create layouts that harmonize aesthetics, functionality, and regulatory compliance.
• Solid understanding of architectural and construction documentation, including the capacity to interpret and produce floor plans, elevations, and detailed drawings for permitting and construction phases.
• Practical experience in FF&E selection, encompassing finishes, furniture, fixtures, and lighting, along with managing vendor and showroom relationships.
• Exceptional visual communication capabilities, utilizing digital presentation software (such as AutoCAD/Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or comparable tools) and hand-sketching techniques.
• A Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent professional experience gained within an interior design or architecture practice.
• Superior organizational and time management skills, with a track record of successfully managing multiple projects and meeting stringent deadlines.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities, coupled with a collaborative, client-focused, and inclusive professional demeanor.
• Familiarity with residential and/or small commercial design standards, materials, and contemporary design trends; knowledge of California building codes is advantageous.
