About the Role

As an Interior Technician at West Star Aviation, you will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the interiors of some of the world's most advanced private aircraft. This role involves a variety of tasks related to aircraft interior systems, from routine maintenance to minor modifications and refurbishments. You will work closely with the Interior Team Leader to ensure all tasks are completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general mechanical tasks on aircraft interiors and associated systems.
• Execute minor modifications to aircraft interiors with minimal supervision.
• Maintain accurate daily turnover sheets, process work orders, and manage weight and balance data.
• Contribute to the maintenance and repair of shop facilities, equipment, and tooling.
• Utilize basic computer skills for accessing electronic training materials, manuals, and maintenance databases.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the workshop and surrounding areas.
• Work independently when required, demonstrating self-sufficiency.
• Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Undertake any other assigned duties as directed by supervisors or management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• A valid driver's license suitable for airline travel and/or a valid passport are advantageous but not essential.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
• Reliable transportation to ensure consistent attendance.
• Commitment to attending work as scheduled, including potential overtime and weekend assignments.
• Proactive notification to your supervisor in advance of any absence.
• Strict adherence to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidelines in all work performed.
• Compliance with all company and safety regulations.
• Maintain a customer-focused approach in all work habits.
• Willingness to assist with major modification projects as needed.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Engage in routine walking, bending, squatting, and sitting.
• Perform repetitive motions with hands and arms, focusing on grasping, feeling, and finger dexterity.
• Stand for extended periods.
• Climb ladders and stairs, and work in confined spaces.
• Understand and implement regulations such as OSHA and Hazmat.
• Collaborate professionally with colleagues.
• Plan and organize procedures and operations effectively.
• Interpret various reports and blueprints.

Working Conditions and Equipment

Work is primarily conducted in a hangar or shop environment, with occasional outdoor work on the ramp. You will be positioned in various locations in and around aircraft. You will use personal hand tools, electrical power tools (sanders, saws, drills), sheet metal cutters, glue guns, metal benders, tugs, power carts, and spray booth equipment.

Additional Information

This role operates under the supervision of an assigned Team Leader and Interior Management. There may be opportunities to supervise other technicians.
