About the role

SSC Services for Education is recruiting immediately for full-time Janitors in Centerton, Arkansas, at the Bentonville West location. Additional openings may also be available at other sites within the school district. This is an on-site role supporting clean, safe, and distraction-free learning environments.

Schedule and pay

The position follows a full-time schedule with days that may vary. Typical hours are 3:30 pm to 12:00 am, with more details to be discussed during the interview. The pay rate is $15.50 to $16.00 per hour. Full-time and part-time arrangements may be available with flexibility to fit many scheduling needs.

What the job involves

The janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order across assigned areas. Work includes heavy cleaning, floor care, rug shampooing, wall and glass cleaning, and removal of waste. The role supports educational facilities and contributes to a professional, safe environment for students, staff, visitors, and patients where applicable.

Key duties

• Follow approved methods to collect and discard trash, including procedures aligned with infection control plans.
• Dust and damp-mop floors using approved cleaning practices.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed for thorough cleaning, then return items to their proper places.
• Clean assigned areas using provided materials and equipment, including sanitizing surfaces and following the eight-step cleaning process.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other surfaces to help maintain a safe and orderly setting.
• Identify areas that need attention and take initiative to complete cleaning tasks.
• Complete assignments given by a supervisor.
• Work in line with applicable federal, state, and county requirements.
• Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors, and shampoo carpets when needed.
• Work cooperatively with the team and interact professionally with customers, coworkers, and others.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Prior janitorial experience is preferred, though it is not mandatory.
• Ability to perform physically active cleaning duties and handle heavy cleaning tasks.
• Willingness to follow safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.
• Ability to work the stated shift and adapt to schedule variations.
• Some positions may require Florida Level 2 background screening.
