Job Summary

The Janitor is responsible for general cleaning and upkeep of assigned indoor spaces at one building or across multiple client locations. Because the exact duties can vary by client site, the role requires flexibility and the ability to carry out tasks based on customer requirements.

Employment Details

• Full-time position
• Multiple shift schedule
• Pay rate: $12 per hour
• Weekly pay

Responsibilities

• Keep all floor areas in clean condition through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming
• Use cleaning chemicals and powered equipment correctly to avoid damaging floors or other surfaces
• Clean and maintain restrooms, meeting rooms, hallways, and entry areas
• Empty waste bins and dispose of trash properly, including operating a compactor for specific materials
• Wash windows, glass panels, and mirrors using suitable tools and cleaning products
• Perform spot cleaning on carpets and assist with shampooing and extraction work when needed
• Restock paper goods and hygiene supplies
• Work according to the assigned housekeeping schedule
• Operate heavier cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums, and buffers when required
• Take on additional duties as needed to meet site or customer needs

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent, or at least 6 months of experience in a janitorial role
• Ability to learn on the job, as training will be provided
• Strong attention to detail
• Comfortable following instructions accurately

Preferred Background

• Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial work
• Exposure to custodial procedures and commercial cleaning expectations
• Knowledge of floor care methods such as buffing and waxing
• Background in industrial cleaning or facility maintenance
