Kennel Attendant

Role overview

CareVet is hiring a Kennel Attendant for Hahira Veterinary Clinic in Hahira, Georgia. This role is central to the daily care of boarded animals and the upkeep of the kennel area. It supports a service-oriented hospital environment by combining animal care, facility cleaning, customer interaction, and coordination with the clinical team.

What you will do

• Provide day-to-day care for animals staying at the kennel.
• Handle bathing, grooming, exercise, feeding, and medication administration.
• Observe boarded dogs and note changes in behavior.
• Help keep the kennel clean and support general kennel maintenance.
• Report any shifts in an animal’s health, condition, or behavior to the veterinarian or hospital manager.
• Maintain records for animals, including weight, physical status, treatments, medications, food intake, and other relevant details.
• Wash, dry, and fold laundry as needed.
• Support cleanliness throughout the hospital.
• Schedule boarding appointments and manage pet check-in and check-out.
• Answer phone calls, respond to questions, book appointments, and take messages for doctors and staff.
• Be prepared for travel if required.
• Take on other tasks assigned by doctors, practice management, or supervisors.

Skills and qualifications

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or comparable education and work background. Prior animal care experience is preferred. Strong customer service instincts, solid organization, clear communication, and a cooperative team mindset are important for success in this role.

Physical requirements

This position requires the ability to lift at least 50 lbs, and to spend long periods standing, bending, and stooping while working.
