Great Wolf Lodge is hiring a Lifeguard for its LaGrange, GA waterpark operations. This role is central to guest safety and helps create a secure, enjoyable environment for visitors, their families, and anyone using the aquatic attractions. The position includes immediate hiring and may involve full-time, part-time, or flexible scheduling. For most roles the minimum age is 16, though this lifeguard role can be open to candidates as young as 15 at some locations.
The starting pay listed for this position is $14.00 per hour.
What the job involves
- Watching swimmers and guests throughout park operating hours, special events, and training periods.
- Responding quickly and appropriately to emergencies within the assigned zone.
- Helping relay emergency updates beyond the assigned area when needed.
- Providing emergency first aid and coordinating assistance when required.
- Making sure waterpark rules and safety standards are followed.
- Notifying aquatics leadership about unsafe or unsanitary conditions.
- Delivering prompt, courteous help to guests at all times.
- Handling routine cleaning and upkeep tasks to keep the waterpark organized and presentable.
- Working in line with Ellis certification standards.
What you need
- No prior experience is necessary because training is provided.
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- You should be willing and able to earn certification in First Aid, CPR, and Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Training.
- Passing a criminal background check and drug screen is required.
Preferred background and traits
- Strong spoken communication skills.
- Previous exposure to First Aid, CPR, or AED use.
- Earlier lifeguard training or hands-on lifeguarding experience.
Physical expectations
- Ability to swim 50 yards in 4 feet of water and retrieve a 10 lb brick from the pool bottom.
- Comfortable sitting or standing for long stretches.
- Able to work for extended periods in hot and humid conditions.
- Capable of climbing multiple flights of stairs.
- Vision must be at least 20/25, corrected or uncorrected, with no permanent eye abnormalities.
Compensation and benefits
Compensation is listed at $14.00 per hour. Pay within the range depends on factors such as education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, travel needs, contract terms, and business requirements.
