About the role
LOCAL Public Eatery in Kamloops is looking for a line cook who can help deliver memorable dining experiences in a busy, team-focused restaurant setting. The environment is energetic, flexible, and built around learning, growth, and enjoying the work while taking pride in quality and consistency.
In this position, you will prepare food with accuracy and care, support smooth kitchen operations, and contribute to a high-energy team that values creativity, speed, and strong collaboration. What you'll do
- Cook complete meals as well as individual menu items.
- Handle special orders for guests with allergies or food intolerances.
- Help plan menus, estimate portion sizes, calculate ingredient needs and costs, and monitor or place supply orders.
- Check kitchen and food-service areas for cleanliness and readiness.
- Train team members in food preparation, cooking methods, and safe food handling.
- Order kitchen supplies and equipment as needed.
- Support and oversee kitchen staff and helpers.
- Track inventory and maintain records for food, supplies, and equipment.
- Keep the kitchen and workstations clean and organized.
- Assist with day-to-day kitchen management.

Compensation
The posted pay range is $18.25 to $23 per hour, and this amount includes the expected share of restaurant tips.
