Role Overview
ABYAT is hiring a Logistics Manager for its Qatar branch warehouse operations. This full-time role is centered on planning, managing, and improving all logistics functions, including inventory control, warehousing, transportation, and distribution. The position aims to keep product movement efficient, cost-conscious, and aligned with customer service goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and roll out logistics policies, procedures, and operating plans that support business objectives.
- Track inventory levels to match customer demand while reducing excess stock and holding costs.
- Supervise warehouse activities such as goods receiving, storage, and dispatch, with attention to safety and efficiency.
- Manage transportation planning, carrier coordination, route selection, and freight discussions to improve delivery timelines and control costs.
- Work with suppliers to secure on-time deliveries and address delays or supply issues.
- Put quality checks in place so products consistently meet expected standards and customer requirements.
- Maintain compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, and customs rules.
- Keep logistics spend under control and work toward budget targets and better operational efficiency.
- Guide, coach, and develop the logistics team while overseeing day-to-day performance.
- Spot opportunities to streamline processes and raise the quality of logistics service.
- Prepare regular performance reports covering KPIs such as on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and cost per unit.
- Coordinate closely with sales, procurement, and customer service teams to ensure smooth logistics support.
- Handle customer concerns related to logistics operations and maintain a high level of service.
- Assess and reduce risks such as supply chain interruptions and transportation delays.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics management, ideally within retail or manufacturing.
- Solid understanding of logistics processes, industry regulations, and operational best practices.
- Hands-on experience with logistics tools, including ERP platforms and warehouse management systems.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfort working under pressure and managing several priorities at once.
- Familiarity with government online systems related to logistics and transport activities.
- Knowledge of customs clearance procedures and applicable regulations.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with outside partners.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
