Logistics Manager

About the Role

Forge Strategies is hiring a practical, hands-on Logistics Manager to take ownership of shipping, receiving, stock control, warehouse activities, and transportation coordination within a growing manufacturing setting. This position suits someone who can combine planning with execution and who enjoys improving processes that keep production moving smoothly and customers satisfied.

Key Responsibilities

• Run the day-to-day flow of shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
• Arrange inbound and outbound freight movement, carrier communication, and delivery timing.
• Keep inventory counts under control and maintain a high level of inventory accuracy.
• Build and sustain effective inventory management methods, including FIFO handling.
• Partner with production, purchasing, and customer service teams to meet operational requirements.
• Monitor logistics performance measures and look for ways to improve them.
• Support adherence to safety rules and internal operating procedures.
• Guide, coordinate, and help develop warehouse and logistics staff.
• Address shipping errors, delivery delays, and transportation problems as they arise.
• Preserve order, flow, and efficiency across warehouse and distribution activities.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, supply chain, or inventory management.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
• Solid knowledge of inventory management and warehouse workflows.
• Background in coordinating freight, carriers, and shipping paperwork.
• Comfort using ERP platforms, inventory systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
• Strong leadership, planning, and issue-resolution abilities.
• Ability to handle a fast-paced setting and balance several priorities at once.
