About the role
As a Loss Prevention Partner in the Profit Protection team, you will play an important part in improving shop efficiency and protecting profitability at your assigned branch. The role focuses on identifying shrinkage patterns, reporting the main causes, safeguarding partners and customers, patrolling the sales floor to discourage theft, and watching CCTV for suspicious activity.
This position is only suitable for candidates aged 18 or over. You will be scheduled on a rota and should be available for a range of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for branch profit protection matters and escalate issues when needed.
- Help reduce the risk of deliberate harm to partners and customers.
- Monitor shrinkage performance to ensure it stays within budget and acceptable risk levels.
- Address all causes of shrinkage, including theft by customers or staff, process failures, and administrative mistakes.
- Guide and coach fellow partners on correct procedures and ways to reduce loss.
- Handle conflict calmly and professionally in store, including situations where individuals may need to be detained or banned for offences.
- Assist with investigations whenever support is required.
Skills and experience
You should bring strong communication skills, confidence in handling disputes, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to notice patterns and indicators of loss. Good customer service and relationship-building skills are also important.
Experience in loss prevention or a customer-facing role would be helpful, but it is not required because full training will be provided during the first few weeks.

Additional information
Some roles may require pre-employment vetting, which can include DBS checks and, for certain positions, financial probity checks. If this applies, you will be told during recruitment and should complete any requested documents promptly to avoid delays. DBS checks, where needed, are completed by an external registered body.
The employer may close the vacancy early if a large number of applications are received, so early application is encouraged. If you need a reasonable adjustment because of a disability and may require more time to complete your application, you should contact the employer as soon as possible.
Flexible working is supported wherever possible, including flexible hours, compressed hours, job sharing, and shorter-hour contracts. These options can be discussed with the hiring manager during the interview.
