Maintenance Supervisor - EAST

Role overview

This position is responsible for supervising the daily maintenance activities for pharmacies and clinics across the Eastern region. The role also involves coordinating custodial support and event-related support when needed, while working closely with technical staff to build an effective team that can meet organizational targets.

Key accountabilities

• Lead day-to-day maintenance personnel and ensure work is carried out in a coordinated and efficient manner.
• Plan maintenance coverage for pharmacies and clinics by identifying required resources, materials, work priorities, and location-specific needs.
• Provide technical direction and oversee custodial and event support during execution to maintain service quality.
• Contribute to goal setting, policy development, and procedure improvement, while monitoring adherence to approved standards.
• Oversee corrective and preventive maintenance activities, as well as safety programs, in line with SLA requirements, approved schedules, SOPs, and HQSE policies.
• Help prepare and manage the maintenance budget, including allocation planning, expenditure tracking, and budget recommendations.
• Safeguard petty cash, ensure proper use through approved processes, and support timely liquidation and reimbursement of maintenance expenses.
• Coordinate stock control and warehouse supplies with the assigned storekeeper, ensuring required items are available and accurately issued or ordered.
• Supervise construction, remodeling, refurbishment, and other special projects aligned with pharmacy needs, budgets, and quality specifications.
• Take part in operational and performance review meetings and lead weekly toolbox talks to strengthen maintenance, quality, safety, and environment practices.
• Inspect pharmacies regularly to verify building systems, maintenance needs, and compliance with Ministry of Civil Defense safety requirements.
• Support recruitment efforts for open roles and provide onboarding guidance on department processes, policies, and procedures.
• Coach, motivate, and guide team members so work is delivered in line with maintenance, safety, quality, and company standards.
• Meet regularly with service providers to address service issues and improvements, and support contract reference preparation for maintenance and construction scope.
• Participate in organizational structure reviews by assessing workload and resource distribution across the region.
• Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards, including reporting hazards, responding to unsafe conditions, and ensuring corrective action for incidents.
• Ensure staff complete required technical and safety training and help identify additional learning needs to improve productivity and service quality.
• Continue professional learning through recommended training, courses, and skill development activities.
• Carry out additional tasks assigned by the direct manager as needed.

Work environment

The role is mainly field-based, with approximately 20% of the time indoors and 80% outdoors. The schedule follows 6 working days per week, with 1 day off weekly. Working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, including a 1-hour break.

Education and experience

A BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering is required. The role calls for 3 years of experience in the MEP engineering field, covering mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work.

Technical skills

Applicants should be comfortable using MS Office Suite and basic AutoCAD. English and Arabic language ability are also required.
