Role overview
The Partner Engagement Manager is responsible for driving results across a defined group of corporate partners through disciplined account management, thoughtful communication, and close collaboration with internal teams. Reporting to the Director of Partner Engagement, this position supports renewal and fundraising objectives by managing partner relationships, delivering partner benefits, and leading initiatives that enhance the overall partner experience.
This role owns a portfolio of partners and is accountable for retention and growth within that group. It is an individual contributor position with the possibility of moving into people management in the future.
The ideal candidate brings strong relationship-building ability, good judgment, and excellent prioritization skills. Success in this role requires a collaborative, proactive approach and confidence working with stakeholders ranging from day-to-day program contacts to senior executives. A strong commitment to continuous improvement and to Girls Who Code’s mission and values around diversity, equity, and inclusion is essential.
This position is based in New York and follows a hybrid schedule with two in-office days per week.
Key responsibilities
- Own a portfolio of corporate partners and manage the relationship end to end to help drive renewals, satisfaction, and long-term expansion.
- Support retention and growth objectives by leading proactive renewal planning and spotting opportunities to deepen partnerships.
- Coordinate renewal strategies across Girls Who Code programming.
- Handle moves management for assigned partners, including timelines, milestones, and follow-up actions.
- Review partnership data and patterns, with support from the Director, to shape renewal strategy, forecasting, and growth planning.
- Use partner feedback, survey results, and engagement data to improve renewal outcomes and the partner experience.
- Work across functions to deliver partner benefits, sponsorship commitments, renewals, and upsell opportunities.
- Prepare polished written materials such as proposals, reports, briefing notes, and concept documents.
- Develop a strong understanding of Girls Who Code programs and act as a key connector between internal teams and external partners.
- Represent partner interests internally and help align team efforts with partner needs.
- Maintain accurate records of partner activity, engagement, and forecast data in Salesforce and related systems.
- Attend partner meetings, events, and convenings as needed.
- Be prepared to support and potentially guide a future Partner Engagement Associate as the team expands.
Qualifications
This role calls for 4 to 5 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years in stakeholder management, account management, fundraising, corporate partnerships, customer success, sales, or a closely related area.
Applicants should be highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines, and able to build effective relationships across internal and external groups. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, along with experience producing materials for partners.
The position also requires the ability to work independently, adjust quickly when priorities change, and look for ways to improve processes. A strong sense of ownership around deadlines, fundraising goals, and portfolio outcomes is important.
Comfort working with both distributed and in-person teams is expected. Experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce is preferred, though a willingness to learn quickly is acceptable. Familiarity with sales engagement platforms such as Yesware or similar tools is also preferred.
Interest in or knowledge of technology, education, workforce equity, or the nonprofit sector is a plus.

The salary range for this position is set with consideration for skills, experience, training, certifications, and other organizational needs. Girls Who Code generally aims to hire at or near the midpoint of the range rather than at the top end. Final compensation depends on the specific facts of each hire.
