About the role
GoFundMe is seeking a Manager for its Strategy & Operations organization. The company powers a global community built around helping people and nonprofits raise support safely and effectively, and the S&O function is central to bringing clarity, alignment, and operational discipline to that mission. This position is a leadership role for someone who enjoys turning complex, high-stakes challenges into scalable programs and strong team execution.
What you will do
- Manage, coach, and grow a team of Program Managers while building a culture focused on ownership, improvement, and high standards.
- Set clear goals and performance measures, give regular feedback, and hold development conversations that support retention and growth.
- Partner with S&O and business leaders to convert strategic priorities into measurable programs with accountable owners, timelines, and milestones.
- Oversee Trust & Safety program delivery, including policy creation, enforcement workflows, launches, and ongoing iteration to protect users and platform integrity.
- Run programs tied to risk management and regulatory compliance so work stays on schedule and meets both internal expectations and outside requirements.
- Coordinate closely with Legal, Policy, Engineering, Product, and Finance to operationalize safety and compliance initiatives.
- Support programs that connect Product and Trust & Safety, including launch readiness, go-to-market coordination, and smooth operational handoffs.
- Create and maintain playbooks, escalation processes, and performance metrics to assess program effectiveness across the team’s focus areas.
- Spot process gaps, inefficiencies, and emerging risks, then design scalable solutions that produce measurable improvements.
- Own quarterly and annual planning, including OKRs, staffing/resource allocation, and roadmap building.
- Prepare executive-level updates, performance stories, and recommendations that drive leadership alignment and decision-making.
- Lead change management for new programs, policy updates, tooling rollouts, and organizational changes.
What we are looking for
- At least 7 years of experience in program management, strategy and operations, consulting, or a related discipline, including 2+ years managing people.
- A strong history of developing teams and delivering results in fast-paced, high-growth settings.
- Experience steering complex cross-functional programs that produced clear outcomes for senior stakeholders.
- Background working in Trust & Safety, Risk, Compliance, or Policy, either directly or in close partnership with those teams.
- Sound business judgment and the ability to weigh efficiency, risk reduction, and longer-term strategy together.
- Excellent organization and multitasking skills, with comfort handling several high-priority efforts at once.
- Strong executive communication ability, including the skill to simplify ambiguity into concise recommendations.
- Self-directed working style and the ability to move quickly in uncertain, changing environments.
- Ability to influence and align varied stakeholders without relying on formal authority.
- Experience in fraud prevention, platform risk, compliance, or marketplace integrity within a technology, ecommerce, fintech, or marketplace business.
- Working knowledge of relevant regulatory and privacy frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, AML/KYC, or similar requirements.
- Comfort using tools like ClickUp, Jira, or Monday.com; familiarity with SQL, Tableau, or Looker is an advantage.
Why this role stands out
- Purpose-driven work with a mission-focused organization that supports millions of people.
- A collaborative, energetic environment with a diverse and talented team.
- Competitive compensation plus comprehensive healthcare coverage.
- Additional support that may include hybrid-work assistance, family-planning support, generous parental leave, flexible time off, and mental health and wellness resources.
- Access to learning, development, and recognition programs.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through employee resource groups and ongoing initiatives.
- Opportunities to give back through volunteering programs.
