About the Role
This is a temporary Marketing & Business Development Assistant position within a fast-paced professional services marketing team. The role reports to the Marketing and Business Development Manager and is a strong fit for someone looking to build a career in marketing, communications, business development, or professional services.
You will provide both administrative and operational support across a wide range of marketing and business development tasks. The work will shift based on business needs, giving you hands-on exposure to communications, event coordination, research, data handling, and stakeholder interaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation and submission of industry rankings, awards, and directory profiles.
- Write, refine, proofread, and format letters, presentations, and other business documents.
- Set up meeting agendas and capture important points, decisions, and follow-up actions.
- Help plan and run internal and external events, including preparing attendee packs and promotional materials.
- Attend events when needed to manage registrations and welcome guests.
- Maintain and refresh contact databases and client records.
- Help create and distribute regular internal and external communications such as newsletters.
- Coordinate meetings and manage diaries across different teams.
- Oversee calendars and administrative tasks for the marketing and business development team.
- Book meeting rooms and handle the practical arrangements required for meetings.
- Research appropriate venues for events and networking sessions.
- Assist with employee engagement activities and internal event delivery.
- Help prepare and schedule social media content.
- Keep marketing materials and internal information systems current.
- Track and report on website engagement, event attendance, and marketing campaign results.
- Carry out market and competitor research to support business development efforts.
- Provide wider administrative and project support to the marketing team as needed.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, comfortable managing several priorities at once, and able to work effectively in a busy environment. Strong communication skills, a professional manner, and a careful approach to detail are essential.
You should also be confident using Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and be capable of working independently while also contributing well within a team. A proactive mindset and willingness to take initiative are important.
Requirements

- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
