Overview

This opportunity is with an international energy and power generation organization that is building up its project engineering team. The position is centered on delivering mechanical engineering support for major power plant and decarbonization initiatives, with attention on mechanical packages and their interfaces across the project.

What you will do

  • Carry out the mechanical engineering workstream for power generation and energy infrastructure assignments.
  • Oversee and align mechanical systems including cranes, hoisting equipment, and elevators.
  • Review customer agreements, technical requirements, and project specifications to understand the full scope.
  • Draft technical specifications and supporting inquiry documents.
  • Coordinate interfaces between mechanical, structural, electrical, and layout disciplines.
  • Track contractor timelines, budgets, and committed deliverables.
  • Take part in design reviews and engineering approval/validation activities.
  • Examine supplier submittals covering engineering, fabrication, and quality matters.
  • Help prepare and transmit customer-facing project documentation.
  • Assist with supplier prequalification and capability development.
  • Support technical discussions and claims-related activities.
  • Follow engineering progress to ensure quality, schedule, and cost targets are met.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during execution.

What we are looking for

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in power generation, EPC, or industrial energy projects.
  • Hands-on exposure to mechanical equipment within large industrial developments.
  • Good command of 2D and 3D design software such as AutoCAD, E3D, or similar tools.
  • Ability to work with technical specifications, documentation sets, and contract language.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, including materials, welding, fabrication methods, and dimensioning.
  • Knowledge of relevant international engineering standards, including EN standards for cranes, elevators, or comparable equipment.
  • Experience working with suppliers, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Comfort operating in project environments with tight constraints on schedule, cost, and quality.
  • Professional English skills; German would be an added advantage.
  • Readiness to work in international project settings and travel from time to time for project needs.
