Its Building Services division manages end-to-end facilities support across the UK, covering mechanical and electrical engineering support, cleaning, catering, and grounds maintenance, backed by technology-driven ways of working.

For the Kent County Council contract, the team is seeking a Mobile Handyperson to handle reactive maintenance, scheduled redecoration, small works, and emergency response tasks. The position also includes participation in out-of-hours call coverage and reporting to the Ad hoc Supervisor.

This is a travelling role across multiple sites in Kent, so a full, clean driving licence is required.

Key duties

• Perform general fabric repairs and carpentry-related tasks, including work on non-fire doors, frames, handles, wall patch repairs, decking, fences, fence posts, blinds, fixtures, fittings, and timber structures.
• Carry out painting and decorating assignments.
• Fit shelves, pictures, noticeboards, and dispensers.
• Replace and install locks as needed.
• Support labouring activities, including furniture moves and churn.
• Undertake seasonal gritting across the estate according to the gritting plan during working hours, with potential out-of-hours call-out depending on weather.
• Complete semi-skilled tasks when directed by the Operations Manager or Supervisor through helpdesk instructions.
• Keep maintenance and inspection logs up to date and submit them promptly using the mobile app and CAFM system.
• Assist with other planned preventative maintenance and additional work in line with engineering standards and HASWA requirements.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and other specialists both inside and outside the fabric discipline.
• Take part in overtime on an ad hoc basis.

• Basic IT ability, including comfortable use of a mobile phone.
• Good communication skills and the ability to build trust with others.
