Role overview
This is a 12-month fixed-term, full-time night concierge position at the Pickmere Extra Care scheme in Crewe, By Farndon, England. The role is centred on creating a warm front-of-house experience while maintaining access control so residents can live in a safe and secure environment. The working pattern consists of 12-hour shifts, with 2 nights worked followed by 4 nights off.
What the role involves
- Welcoming residents and visitors at reception and helping maintain a secure building environment.
- Managing access control as part of night-time site security.
- Using IT equipment confidently, including CCTV systems.
- Carrying out some light domestic tasks, such as buffing communal areas.
- Working with residents and handling feedback in a busy service-delivery setting.
Essential experience and skills
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a customer-facing service environment and be comfortable following health and safety procedures. Strong communication, time management, teamwork and flexibility are all important, along with the ability to use IT effectively and operate CCTV equipment. The employer also expects behaviour aligned with its internal values.
Desirable experience
- Previous experience in a concierge or front-of-house role.
- Experience operating CCTV, including awareness of the Information Commissioner’s CCTV Code of Practice.
- Experience working with contractors and supporting estate, cleaning, caretaking, gardening or maintenance services.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and good practice in estate services.
Desirable qualifications
- Health and Safety certification.
- City & Guilds or NVQ qualification in CCTV or Security Services.
