Packaging Operator / Relief Millwright

About the Role

Molson Coors is looking for a Packaging Operator / Relief Millwright to join the brewery team in St. John’s. This role sits within Operations and is centered on asset care, helping keep packaging lines and related equipment running safely and efficiently in a busy manufacturing setting.

You will combine hands-on packaging line operation with mechanical maintenance support. The position involves routine cleaning, inspection, lubrication, preventive work, shutdown preparation, reliability support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts aimed at improving line performance, reducing utility usage, preventing breakdowns, and supporting team training.

This role reports to the Packaging and/or Asset Care Team Leader and partners with multiple teams to support operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Run packaging equipment in line with safety standards and the company’s supply chain operating practices.
• Carry out predictive, preventive, and operational maintenance tasks using millwright-level methods and procedures.
• Read and interpret diagrams, schematics, and service manuals to plan and perform the required work.
• Record and complete work-order documentation accurately.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification, along with a Red Seal Journeyman Millwright designation.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in high-speed packaging and/or manufacturing.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and handle duties with limited supervision.
• Dual certification in trades such as machinist, welder, refrigeration mechanic, air conditioning mechanic, or power engineer is an advantage.
• Forklift experience is considered a plus.
• Working knowledge of SAP is considered an asset.
