Private Equity Associate

Role Overview

Talently is hiring a Private Equity Associate for its Los Angeles office. This is an on-site position based in Los Angeles, California, United States, with a salary range of $150,000 to $175,000. The role sits within a venture capital and private equity environment focused on identifying attractive investments, supporting transaction decisions, and contributing to the firm’s growth strategy across multiple industries.

The position is well suited to professionals who want to deepen their experience in private equity while taking on meaningful responsibility in a fast-moving investment setting. You will work closely with senior leaders, investment teams, and portfolio companies throughout the deal lifecycle.

What You’ll Do

• Create detailed financial models and perform valuation work on prospective investments.
• Help originate new opportunities by researching potential target companies and relevant market segments.
• Support due diligence efforts through market analysis and competitive assessment.
• Draft investment memos and contribute to discussions with internal decision-makers and outside stakeholders.
• Partner with portfolio businesses to review performance and help execute post-investment strategic plans.
• Assist senior team members with transactions from initial sourcing through final close.
• Monitor industry developments, new technologies, and regulatory updates affecting target sectors.

Skills and Background

Candidates should bring strong capability in financial modeling, forecasting, and valuation methods, along with prior exposure to due diligence in M&A, investment, or acquisition contexts. The role also calls for sharp analytical judgment, strong numerical ability, and excellent written and verbal communication for reports and presentations.

A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related discipline is required.

Preferred Experience

Experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, or management consulting will be viewed favorably. Familiarity with deal sourcing tools and CRM software is also beneficial, as is knowledge of sectors such as technology or healthcare. Exposure to post-acquisition value creation initiatives is an added advantage.

Compensation

The annual salary for this role is between $150,000 and $175,000.
