Project Execution General Manager

Job Purpose

The Head of Project Execution is responsible for overseeing all facets of Project Execution within the organization. This role ensures that all Airside and Terminal activities strictly adhere to regulatory mandates and quality standards. The position provides crucial strategic direction, guarantees safety compliance, and fosters effective communication among all stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.

Position Accountability Description

• Strategic Planning and Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans, offering strategic direction and leadership for project execution initiatives that align with the organization's overarching goals and objectives. Provide leadership and direction to project teams, ensuring a high level of performance and fostering professional development. Monitor industry trends and best practices to maintain the organization's project execution processes as competitive and effective.
• Project Management Oversight: Supervise the planning, execution, and delivery of all Airside and Terminal projects, ensuring timely completion within scope and budget. Secure necessary permits and clearances for sitework, ensuring compliance with relevant safety and environmental standards (e.g., GACAR, ICAO, FAA). Conduct regular reviews and audits of project documentation, progress reports, and safety records.
• Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the Project Execution team, establishing clear performance expectations and providing ongoing support. Conduct regular performance reviews and implement development programs to enhance team capabilities. Cultivate a high-performing, collaborative, and engaged workforce, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
• Stakeholder Management: Maintain robust relationships with key stakeholders, including Contractors, Vendors, local Authorities, and community members. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and promptly address any issues or concerns. Represent the organization in meetings with regulatory bodies, ensuring adherence to Aviation and Environmental standards.
• Resource Allocation and Financial Management: Develop and manage the division's budget, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization of resources. Identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering, implementing strategies to achieve financial efficiencies. Review and advise on the legitimacy of any potential variation orders. Monitor project expenditures and provide regular financial reports to Senior Management.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with Project Execution, including safety hazards, regulatory compliance, and operational disruptions. Develop and implement contingency plans to address potential risks and ensure business continuity. Ensure all project activities comply with the organization's risk management policies and procedures.
• Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of the project execution division. Provide regular reports and updates to Senior Management on project activities, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives. Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with project management policies and procedures.
• Delegation and Empowerment: Assign tasks and responsibilities based on team members’ strengths and capabilities, ensuring accountability and empowerment. Empower team members to take ownership of their roles and contribute to project success.
• Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve conflicts within the team or with stakeholders constructively. Navigate sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy, maintaining positive relationships.

Minimum Job Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification is required. A minimum of 15 years of comprehensive experience in Project Management or a closely related field within a large organization is necessary, with a preference for experience in the aviation or transportation industry.
