ജോലി വിവരണം

Role overview

In this position, you will help raise the profile and performance of Sony Music’s New Zealand roster, as well as selected international priority releases, across the New Zealand market. The role combines radio promotion, publicity coordination, and live/on-the-ground support to deliver strong campaign reach and audience engagement.

You will work across radio, press, live activations, and content-led promotional opportunities, while building trusted relationships with media, artists, managers, and internal label and marketing teams. The aim is to deliver coordinated campaigns that are creative, well executed, and aligned to both artist goals and commercial priorities.

Radio pitching and airplay support

  • Pitch priority singles each week to targeted radio stations and networks in line with release plans and campaign objectives, working with the Promotions & Marketing Executive where needed.
  • Develop productive relationships with music directors, programmers, producers, and presenters across commercial, alternative, community, and specialist radio.
  • Create radio promotion plans that support artist objectives and broader marketing strategy.
  • Organise interviews, live on-air performances, station visits, giveaways, and station-run activations.
  • Monitor airplay and prepare regular reports and campaign updates for internal teams and, when required, international stakeholders.

Publicity and media scheduling

  • Coordinate publicity plans with New Zealand media for local releases and priority international campaigns, matching global priorities with local opportunities.
  • Maintain strong working connections with journalists, editors, producers, and outlets across print, digital, TV, audio, and culturally relevant media platforms.
  • Assist with, or lead depending on the campaign, the preparation and distribution of press releases, artist bios, imagery, and other media assets.
  • Secure interviews, reviews, and feature opportunities, while managing the full process and ensuring artists are properly briefed and supported.

Promotions, activations, and content opportunities

  • Work with radio and media partners to plan and deliver promotions such as fly-aways, competitions, partner events, showcases, launches, listening sessions, and fan activations.
  • Identify content opportunities that strengthen campaigns, including interviews, performances, behind-the-scenes pieces, “day in the life” features, and social-first integrations.
  • Handle event and activation logistics such as venues, guest lists, run sheets, travel, schedules, artist liaison, and partner requirements.
  • Make sure all promotions are delivered professionally, on schedule, and in line with artist and Sony brand standards.

Promotional event management

  • Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of promotional events across New Zealand for local and priority international release campaigns.
  • Help run local showcases for New Zealand artists, including intimate industry events, partner showcases, media-focused events, and fan activations.
  • Assist with international artist listening parties and related media, industry, and influencer events aligned to global campaign plans and local market opportunities.

Touring artist on-ground support

  • Create and manage on-the-ground promotional schedules for touring artists, covering radio, media, content, and partner commitments where applicable.
  • Work closely with artist management, touring teams, and international stakeholders to deliver agreed activity smoothly.
  • Provide on-site support during touring periods when needed, ensuring artists are supported and all parties remain aligned.

Stakeholder and artist relationship management

  • Act as a key daily contact for artists and managers during campaigns and touring promotional windows.
  • Partner with label, marketing, digital, and social teams to integrate promotion and publicity into the wider rollout plan.
  • Build and maintain relationships across radio, media, publishers, and emerging creator/content channels to support artist visibility and audience growth.

Planning, reporting, and improvement

  • Manage promotions deliverables, including timelines, bookings, and related project coordination.
  • Prepare concise campaign updates, results summaries, and learnings for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay informed on changes in New Zealand radio and media, as well as new content formats, to spot fresh promotional opportunities.

Candidate profile

You should bring 1 to 3 years of experience in music promotions, radio, publicity, marketing, media, or a similar entertainment-focused role. A solid understanding of the New Zealand radio, media, and cultural environment is important, along with hands-on experience running campaigns across radio, media, digital, and on-ground activity.

Experience working directly with artists, artist management, and internal marketing teams is expected, as is the ability to build relationships quickly with key NZ radio and media contacts. You will need to handle several campaigns at once in a fast-moving setting and be comfortable working flexible hours to match artist schedules and campaign activity.

Benefits and workplace culture

  • Join a collaborative, inclusive, and globally connected team focused on creativity and impact.
  • Flexible working arrangements with a mix of office-based and home-based work.
  • Company-supported private health insurance.
  • Extra leave options and wellbeing support.
  • Generous employee discounts across the Sony Group.
  • Employee Assistance Program available to team members and their families.
  • Ongoing investment in professional development and career growth.
