About the Role

TNA is hiring an organised, proactive Purchasing Officer to support the Melbourne Operations team. Based at the Hallam manufacturing site, with initial training at the Boronia site, this role reports to the Materials Planning Manager and is essential in securing the timely purchase and delivery of materials and services needed to meet production plans and customer commitments.

The position operates in a fast-moving environment and requires strong supplier coordination, practical problem-solving, and close collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to help ensure production continues without interruption.

Key Responsibilities

• Accelerate the supply of materials and services to keep production schedules and customer needs on track.
• Track purchase order delivery dates and actively chase any overdue orders.
• Review production shortage reports and respond quickly to reduce the risk of supply interruptions.
• Work closely with the Production and Spare Parts teams to locate and resolve shortages.
• Create and administer purchase orders in line with company delegation and approval limits.
• Find backup supply options when there is a risk of delay.
• Suggest alternate suppliers to strengthen supply reliability and overall performance.
• Help maintain healthy inventory levels while meeting operational and production requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Background in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or materials planning.
• Solid knowledge of supply chain operations and material flow.
• Prior use of ERP or MRP systems; experience with D365 is considered an advantage.
• Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong general computer proficiency.
• Comfortable working independently, handling multiple priorities, and staying effective under pressure.
• Purchasing or supply chain qualifications are preferred, though not mandatory.
