About HealthTrack
HealthTrack develops practice management and clinical software for specialist healthcare providers across Australia and New Zealand. Based in Queensland and operating since 2001, the company supports organisations in both the public and private sectors. Since the products are used in patient care and process sensitive health information, software quality is treated as a critical priority.
About the role
HealthTrack is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join a compact engineering team and help deliver dependable, high-quality software. The company is open to candidates at different stages of their QA career, from those who are still building experience to those who already bring a strong background, and the responsibilities can be adapted to suit the right hire. The position is embedded in an agile squad working closely with developers across a React-based product and multiple .NET projects. Depending on experience, the role will range from learning Playwright to taking ownership of automation and regression testing coverage.
Key responsibilities
- Validate new functionality against agreed acceptance criteria across React and .NET products.
- Carry out functional, regression, and exploratory testing across the application stack.
- Prepare bug reports that are clear, easy to reproduce, and prioritized appropriately.
- Contribute to shaping acceptance criteria and identify quality risks as early as possible.
- Participate in sprint planning and other agile ceremonies.
- Use Playwright for test automation, with responsibilities ranging from guided learning to full ownership of the suite depending on experience.
What the team is looking for
The ideal candidate has a strong instinct for finding defects and enjoys challenging software from a user and quality perspective. You should be detail-oriented, communicate clearly, understand how testing supports agile delivery, and feel comfortable working side by side with developers while advocating for quality.
Nice to have
- Exposure to coding, especially in JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Background in regression testing tools or processes.
- ISTQB certification or an equivalent credential.
- Experience with healthcare software or other regulated environments.
What HealthTrack offers
- Hybrid working arrangement in Brisbane.
- The chance to own quality practices within a small, established team.
- Support for building stronger testing and automation capabilities.
- A collaborative engineering environment focused on software that has real impact.
