Role Summary
The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for checking wax patterns for dimensional conformity and visible defects before tree assembly. The role also requires maintaining complete inspection records for each batch so that quality tracking remains clear and traceable.
Key Responsibilities
Dimensional checking
- Compare wax patterns with approved drawings using vernier calipers, depth gauges, and go/no-go gauges.
- Capture every measurement in the Dimensional Inspection Report for each batch.
- Separate and identify rejected patterns right away, and notify the QC Engineer if the same dimension repeatedly moves out of tolerance.
Visual checking
- Examine every wax pattern for defects such as sink marks, short fills, flash, cracks, pull marks, and damaged gates.
- Log the accepted quantity, rejected quantity, and defect category in the Visual Inspection Report for each batch.
First article inspection
- For newly developed or revised dies, inspect the die and the first five wax samples together with the QC Engineer.
- Complete the FAI Report in full before regular production begins.
Quality documentation and control
- Complete all forms fully and clearly, with no empty fields.
- Share the daily rejection summary with the QC Engineer at the end of the shift.
- Keep rejection tags on every rejected lot and archive all completed reports in the assigned folder.
- Verify the calibration status of instruments every day and report any expired or damaged instrument immediately.
Qualifications and Skills Needed
The role calls for an ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, along with 1 to 3 years of inspection experience in investment casting. The candidate should be able to interpret engineering drawings and work confidently with vernier calipers, depth gauges, and go/no-go gauges. Strong, neat record-keeping in English or Gujarati is important. Prior experience in a wax room will be an added advantage.
