About the Role
This position sits within the Agri team and supports Relationship Managers in delivering smooth banking experiences. The role combines customer support, financial analysis, and practical insights for selected customer groups across the Commercial and Small Business segments.
Over time, this position can help build credit and relationship management capability. Within 12 months, depending on senior management discretion, the successful person may receive a small credit approval delegation and manage three or more accounts. The role is intended for someone with strong potential to grow into a full Relationship Manager position.
The role is based in Southland, either Gore or Invercargill, and is a permanent full-time position with standard hours from Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand customer needs and business requirements so they feel heard, supported, and valued.
- Review customer portfolios to gain insight into their scale, goals, challenges, and value drivers.
- Help strengthen the bank’s market presence by showing solid knowledge of customer industries and relevant market movements.
- Where required, look after a small client portfolio with senior management approval.
- Work closely with Relationship Managers, Senior Managers, and product partners to create suitable solutions and resolve customer issues.
- Improve customer satisfaction through thoughtful engagement and practical, value-adding insights.
- Use customer feedback to help enhance the overall service experience and support retention.
- Take ownership of ongoing self-development while maintaining a positive, professional approach.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience building and sustaining strong relationships in a customer-facing role.
- Working knowledge of security structuring arrangements.
- Good analytical ability with the confidence to interpret financial trends and their impact.
- Background in banking or wider financial services.
- Prior exposure to financial or lending environments.
