Role Overview
This role is focused on leading and managing relationship-driven banking for Government clients, including Central and State ministries/secretariats and PSUs, under the guidance of the Team Leader. The position is responsible for building and sustaining strategic engagement with stakeholders across government ministries, committees, and autonomous bodies.
Key Responsibilities
- Bring in new government clients and handle an assigned portfolio of Central and State PSU accounts.
- Strengthen and preserve long-term relationships with existing customers.
- Promote financial solutions and identify opportunities for cross-selling.
- Continuously look for ways to increase the bank’s share of business within the customer base.
- Develop a strong working understanding of the full product suite offered to clients.
- Coordinate closely with operations to ensure transactions are executed smoothly.
- Support the execution of marketing initiatives and related plans.
- Assist the Relationship Management Group with research and analysis covering industries, clients, and markets.
- Prepare credit approval and renewal notes, along with risk analysis reports for the client portfolio.
- Translate customer needs into product requirements and work with product teams to help shape suitable solutions.
- Liaise with financial markets, investment banking, and retail banking teams to create cross-selling synergies for government and PSU customers.
- Oversee management of recoveries and NPAs for the assigned customer cluster.
- Assess the capability and staffing levels needed to deliver services effectively.

The role requires close coordination across multiple banking functions and a strong focus on government and PSU relationship banking. It also involves portfolio oversight, credit assessment, risk reporting, and support for product development based on client needs.
